Our reason for being.
Most importantly, we love to travel. More appropriately, we believe in the life changing experience and positive power of travel. With that in mind, we are striving to create and unite a community of world travelers by launching a platform of globally sourced and inspired clothing, gear and inspiration.
Our mission is to design and manufacture the best products for traveling the world. We believe that we can use Kosan as way to inspire travel, and to promote traveling as a solution to end bigotry and prejudice in a world that needs more acceptance, tolerance and peace.
We are deeply committed to making a positive difference in the communities we work within, and to share the stories of the wonderful people we work with. Wherever possible, our products are ethically sourced, and we are honoured to support our travelers on their journeys. We know firsthand that travelers are a special breed. We open our eyes and our hearts to the world, and we celebrate our shared humanity.
Where are you guys located?
As a travel company, we can’t help but embrace the digital lifestyle. Our team is based all around the world including in Toronto, Texas and even Melbourne! Our home base is out of beautiful Vancouver, Canada, and that is where your goodies will be shipping out of.
Our studio isn’t open to the public just yet, but if you’re ever in Vancouver, Toronto, Houston or Melbourne for that matter, feel free to drop us a line. We love making new friends!
Is this offer for real? Is it a scam?
We are 100% legitimate, and we are serious about offering you the perfect travel scarf free of charge.
We are running this free campaign because we believe in our products, and we think you will love them too. We know how hard it can be to trust online retailers, so that’s why we are giving you the chance to try our products, without any risk.
Ok great, but what’s the catch?
That’s the thing, there isn’t one. We promise! We know that the best way to get to know a product is to try it for yourself. So we are committed to make it as easy as possible for you test out our thoughtfully sourced and carefully curated products.
Why do I need to sign up and share?
Well here’s the thing, in order to give these goodies away for free, we need to absorb the cost somehow. To do this, we’ve allocated our entire marketing strategy towards this campaign! Our goal is to get our products into your hands, without a huge investment or any risk on your part.
And this means that we need your help to spread the word! Trust us, we really do appreciate your help, and if we’re being honest, we think your friends might like the offer too.
Can I have more than one scarf?
We created this campaign to get our products to as many people as possible. That’s why we ask for one scarf per e-mail address. Because of this, we can only package and ship out one scarf at a time. Once we launch though, feel free to buy as much as you want!
That being said, we love that you want to get more. If you sign up with a different email address for your next scarf, we would ask that you not only share on your Facebook wall, but also tag as many of your friends as you can. Help us get our message out there!
We know there are a lot of travel scarves out there. But we think we’ve created one that you’ll never want to leave at home.
For us, simplicity is key. We didn’t want a fancy scarf with loads of hidden pockets (that sometimes end up looking a bit lumpy and bulky if we are being completely honest). We wanted something that looked good with just about anything, that was lightweight and airy, and that would pack up nice and small. Something that could worn in a multitude of ways, for just about any occasion, and that would provide the perfect ‘je ne sais quoi’. It’s a no fuss, classically timeless scarf with what we think is, a worldly charm. And it’s all yours, for free.
The scarf is made from 100% viscose. Lightweight and airy, it has a soft silky feel and is ultra breathable.
The Hai Van scarf is approximately 130cm x 130cm.
This scarf is quite lightweight, which means it can be delicate. Be careful to avoid sharp corners or objects that may snag the fabric. We suggest following our care instructions:
- Hand wash with cold water
- Squeeze water out gently and lay flat to dry
- Lightly steam to release any wrinkles
- Do not put in washing machine or dryer
The Hai Van scarf is manufactured in China. We know that China has a bit of a bad reputation when it comes to manufacturing, bringing to mind unethical practices and cheap quality. While that may still be true in a lot of cases, local manufacutrers are investing a lot of time and money to change that.
We are working with a factory specializing in woven scarves. They are audited by SGS, a world renwoned audit company providing testing, inspection and quality control services. Our factory has been verified and provides fair wages, and a clean, safe working environment for all workers.
Why aren’t my goodies shipped out immediately after I order?
In order for us to give away the perfect travel scarf free of charge, all orders are ‘pre-orders’ at this time. This means that every single item is made-to-order. We needed to reduce our costs as much as possible so that we could run this campaign, and the easiest and most sensible thing to do was to eliminate waste. By only ordering what was needed, we were able to cut down our initial costs dramatically.
Your perfect travel scarf will typically be delivered between 6-8 weeks from the date you ordered. If there are any delays or issues, we will let you know as soon as possible.
We know the wait is hard, but we hope it will be worth it!
Where do you ship to?
As a travel company, the world is our oyster. With that in mind, we set out to ensure we could ship just about anywhere. We’ve partnered up with Canada Post to offer competitive shipping rates around the globe, to get our products to you safely and quickly.
How much is shipping?
To make your life easy, we’ve included a shipping calculator so that you know how much it will be. We do not offer standard shipping rates, as our express and priority rates are more cost effective and quicker than standard shipping.
Why did my friend get a cheaper shipping rate than I did?
Shipping is based on where you are located. If you input your address, the shipping costs will be calculated automatically.
How long will it take to receive my order?
Please allow approximately 8 weeks for production and delivery.
Can I track my order?
Definitely! Once your order is all ready to go, and shipped from our HQ in Vancouver, we will send you an email with a tracking number and ETA. That way you can track the shipment until it arrives directly on your doorstep.
And once it arrives? Feel free to snap a photo and share with us on social media, using the #TEAMKOSAN. We love seeing your photos and if it's OK with you, we might even repost!
There should be no taxes or duties on the scarf itself, as it is a free gift.
However, each country has different regulations so be sure to check out the customs regulations for your country if you have any concerns.
Why do you charge shipping upfront?
The thing is, as a business we can’t justify absorbing the cost of producing the scarves without a guarantee that shipping is paid for. We also can’t keep an authorization on a credit card for an extended period of time, as the risks are too high both for us and for you.
Either way, if for any reason you do change your mind, we can provide a shipping fee refund up until your order is processed.
What type of payment methods do you accept?
We want to make it easy for you to love our products. We accept VISA, Mastercard, American Express and PayPal.
For the purpose of this campaign and since we are absorbing the cost of the products, we are treating every order as final sale.
We understand that sometimes things happen, so if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email email@example.com. We will review your claim and let you know what we can do. And if it’s damaged for any reason? We’ll definitely send you a replacement ASAP!
